Who’s the sexiest geek of 2008?

Wired.com wants you to decide. You can vote for existing candidates or submit your own, and you can browse choices based on who’s hot, who’s new to the poll, and who’s currently top-rated.
Personally I don’t think it’s fair to call Tina Fey a geek just because she wears glasses. She’s a talented actress and a gifted comic, and few would argue against her sexiness, but–and nothing against geeks in general–she is not quite at home in this poll.
Anyway, just one more means of wasting a few minutes on the Web.

Great, they’re letting illiterate people make nominations.

What’s with all the actresses? Can their readers not differentiate between “real geek” and “plays a geek on TV”?

Tina Fey has always been gorgeous, but–and I know this sounds bad–I suspect she was asked to wear the Coke-bottle glasses on SNL all those years to hide the fact of her attractiveness, as too much sex appeal would have detracted from people’s (at least men’s) ability or willingness to see her as the awesome comic she is. She would have been Tina Fey the hottie who can crack a funny here and there, not Tina Fey the comedienne with drop-dead timing who happens to look good.

    I hate that survey.
Society is entirely too obsessed with sexiness. Don’t we already have enough people?
